2008 BIBA Tournament Results
John Hedge was won the 2008 British Isles Backgammon Association Jarvis Trophy. The backgammon tournament took place on the first weekend of February at the Barcelo Daventry hotel. It was played in the Swiss format and was directed by Michael Crane of BIBA.
The 2008 Jarvis Trophy was the first 2008 British Isles Backgammon Association tournament, held in February 1-3, 2008 at the Barceló Daventry hotel (formerly known as Paramount). Conveniently enough, the number of the entrants to the event stood on exactly 32. Therefore, the number of participants at the Main flight and the Consolation flight was even - 16 players in each competition.
The Jarvis Trophy was taken this year by John Hedge, who had credit to his account 6/6 wins including the final match against Paul Gilbertson. The 1st place of the Consolation flight is shared by Marcus Wrinch and Paul Barwick with 3/4 wins and 9.29 points each.
