New Backgammon Variant
A game company called Mindgammon had announced inventing a new variant of the classic board game backgammon. The new game, also called Mindgammon, was worked upon for over 5 years, will be available online in the next couple of months and on sale in retail stores in North America right before the holidays.
Christian Bailey, president of Mindgammon, Inc., says that the idea to create a new version of the old backgammon games has been accompanying him for almost 20 years. Together with Wayne Hulsen, the company's Chairman, the two had worked on the design and the development of the game for the last 5 years.
Mindgammon borrows from its ancestors the strategies and tactics with a useable, more beginner-friendly set of rules. The game debut introduction occurred in 2005 at a toy fair in Chicago. The public's positive feedbacks have encouraged the company founders, who continued working on the final development of the game.
In 2007, the updated version of the game was exposed at the New York toy fair. There, Mindgammon had received good reviews and caught the attention of the International Montessori Council and the Red Cross, who found the game a proper brain exercise for both young kids and elderly people.
