World Series of Backgammon Broadcast Schedule
The World Series of Backgammon (WSOB) had recently revealed the broadcast schedule of the Nordic Open Backgammon Championship, held last March at the Marienlyst Hotel in Helsingør, Denmark. The televised version of the prestigious Danish backgammon event will be available in Europe on Eurosport 2 starting on July 24 at 8 PM (CET).
The WSOB Nordic Open Backgammon Championship, one of the top backgammon events of 2008, will be aired European sports channel on Eurosport 2 throughout July and August. The WSOB Nordic Open Backgammon Championship includes live, multi-cam footage of the famed backgammon event including the high stakes 5-point match held with backgammon and poker superstar Gus Hansen vs. Sander Lylloff.
In the meantime, spectators from other parts of the world can view the four, hour-long episodes of Nordic Open produced by the World Series of Backgammon Enterprises Limited via internet movie platforms such as Joost. However, WSOB Director Andy Bell stated that the ESPN is showing interest in purchasing the broadcasting right of the WSOB events.
World Series of Backgammon Enterprises Limited plans for the near future includes filming the WSOB Riviera Cup, held at the French Riviera from July 16 to July 21 and followed by the 2008-7 World Series of Backgammon Championship, featuring winners of the WSOB former qualifiers (UK Masters, Nordic Open and Riviera Cup) qualifiers from the online backgammon site Play65, as well as the world's top backgammon players.
